Abo Group Sustainable Architecture Denver, Colorado

Program: The Abo Group, Inc. was awarded this contract to create a prototype design for the proposed four new dormitories located on the Job Corps campus in Clearfield, Utah. The campus is an existing 34-acre site for the training of teenage Job Corps volunteers who will learn skills in a wide variety of technologies and construction. The prototypical dormitory will feature elements that reflect the existing materials and scale of the original dormitory built in the mid 1990s. Because the site is surrounded by ranches, the prototype will mirror the "bunk house" motif of the Utah ranchlands. This motif borrows elements such as long front porches for recreation and relaxation, common dining areas, common meeting areas and quiet sleeping units.
