Program: The Abo Group was hired to provide the Conceptual Design Report for the Science & Technology Facility, a 54,100sf research and development facility consisting of 29,250sf of H-6 laboratories and support space. This new, high-profile facility will provide the photovoltaics research and development community and US industry with a unique and versatile ‘platform’ for researching, fully characterizing and integrating the materials and processes that are critical to industry for commercialization of these products.

The strategy will be to utilize this new facility to assist private industry in two important ways – to move new and alternative technologies more rapidly from laboratory-scale demonstration to first-time commercial manufacturing/use; and to implement new in-situation diagnostics and intelligent processing approaches into manufacturing.
